About Kez Rugs
Horse rugs cut and sewn in Beaudesert, Queensland, by people who own horses.
Kerry Douglas, proprietor of Kez Rugs and Saddlery, has been in the equestrian industry for over 30 years and has been making quality horse rugs for over 25 of them. Kez Rugs grew from a “one woman band” into an Australian manufacturer with a name that travels well beyond Queensland.
From the Gold Coast to Beaudesert
Kez Rugs started on the Gold Coast. Just over 15 years ago Kerry moved the business to Tamborine Village, and after the floods brought by Cyclone Debbie, Kez Rugs relocated again to its current factory and shop in Beaudesert. Every rug is still cut, sewn and checked here.
Established throughout Australia and now exporting to a variety of countries, Kerry supplies horse rugs, fly veils, tail bags, hay bags and PVC halters and bridles to every equestrian discipline: pony clubs, adult riding groups, the thoroughbred racing industry, polo clubs, dressage, eventing, showing and many more.
Why the rugs fit
We know what a horse looks like and how it moves, and we don’t work from a static model. Horses roll, scratch, frolic and put their heads down to eat, so our rugs have no shoulder darts to cause pressure points and rubbing, a double-stitched and bound back seam that holds the shape of the rug to the horse, and fittings built to last the life of the rug or longer.
Leg straps are removable so you can layer rugs on one set, and reversible so they clip under the rug rather than at the rear.
Embroidery and club colours
Kez Rugs offers a full embroidery service. Have your rugs and products embroidered with your horse’s name or stud name, and clubs and associations can have their branding and logos applied. Custom binding in your stud or club colours is available too. Email or phone for a quote.
